Strong families are the cornerstone of vibrant communities and a resilient society.

PCA Georgia’s Mandated Reporter Training ensures all mandated reporters, and anyone involved with children or families understands reporting protocol, knows how to make a report of abuse and recognizes the signs of child maltreatment.  However, barriers such as fear of reporting, the inability to recognize all forms of child maltreatment, and vague organizational policies may prevent professionals from making accurate reports of child maltreatment.

Positive Childhood Alliance Georgia’s new training, prioritizes strategies that reduce ‘family overwhelm’ and uplifts people raising children. The best way to protect children is by supporting and resourcing families to prevent the need for DFCS intervention. We believe that mandated reporters should also see themselves as mandated supporters. Viewing yourself first as a mandated supporter, helps in the shift away from family surveillance, towards a culture of support, a much more proactive response to child abuse and neglect.
