As a member of the “Hard Knock” school of learning, Sherry experienced a lot of change. She went through extremely difficult life altering events. Through great loss, failure, and fear she found herself on a journey of self-discovery and purpose.
After 10 years of marriage, Sherry went through a devastating divorce. Her heartbreak kept her bound by fear, depression, low self-esteem and the belief that she was unlovable.
For many years Sherry survived but did not thrive. As a single mom for 10 years, Sherry worked full-time in many low-income jobs while attending college fulltime. Sherry completed her bachelor’s and master’s degree. With her education and her “Hard Knocks” she launched her career into social services. She quickly found that her life experiences gave her greater compassion and understanding for struggling families.
Sherry eventually married again. Six months into their marriage her husband was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and passed within 2 years. Once again, she faced more “Hard Knocks.” However, through Sherry’s faith and her past experiences she was stronger and more resilient this time! She had lived through a divorce, single motherhood and now a widow.
Every “Hard Knock” Sherry experienced gave her greater compassion for hurting people and a drive to continue serving those in hard places.
Sherry’s 18 yr. career in the social services field spans the public, federal, and non-profit sectors. Sherry is now a Certified Life Coach, business owner, wife, and mother. She believes that all things are possible. That all were created for a purpose and given the ability to achieve their purpose!
